KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Some parts of west Michigan have seen some rain, finally. It fell the hardest on the areas along the Michigan-Indiana border that have been the driest.
Parts of Kalamazoo, Battle Creek and St. Joseph Counties finally got wet and there was actually some stormy weather in the border counties, and some wind damage that knocked about 2900 Midwest Energy Customers off the grid for most of the day. By late Sunday morning power was restored to almost all of them.
It cancelled plans for an outdoor movie in downtown Battle Creek Saturday evening. Most of the area remained high and dry, just uncomfortably hot and muggy.
