DETROIT, MI (1660 THE FAN) - Drew Smyly pitched six strong innings, and got some help from Delmon Young, as Detroit defeated Kansas City 4-2 Friday night at Comerica Park.  Smyly struck out 10 Royal batters, and Young launched a two-run home run in the 6th, as the Tigers made it back to the .500 mark with the win.  Game 2 of the series is set for Saturday, with broadcast time on AM 590 WKZO set for 3:40 pm.
