KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- The Students at WMU’s Engineering School unveiled their latest version of the Sunseeker Solar Car today for a race that will bring them up the east coast, thru Ohio, Michigan and Kalamazoo on their way to the finish line.
Team co-leader Byron Isenburg of Vicksburg says they hope they will have a little homefield advantage, and another big advantage is because this is an upgrade of an older Sunseeker, that they have had the extra time to work out the bugs.
If this weather pattern continues, one good thing is that they will have plenty of sunny weather to run under...always a big plus for a solar car.
The race starts on July 14 and takes 8 days to complete from Rochester, New York to St. Paul. Minnesota. It will stop in Kalamazoo on the 17th.
