JAPAN (WKZO) --Concern is growing as the search continues for Portage’s Matt Johnson, who remains missing on Mt. Fuji in Japan.  

The Eaton Corporation software engineer was sent to Japan to meet with colleagues and customers according to the firm, and he was using his own time for an overnight backpacking hike on Japan’s sacred volcano.  

Johnson is an avid and experienced hiker and mountain biker, but as the days pass, his chances of surviving the cold and snow dwindle.  

They are hoping that as hikers and climbers take to the mountain this weekend, that someone will spot Johnson.
