KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- The man found dead in Spring Valley Lake over the weekend has been identified as 27-year-old Jason Kyle Bassett of Kalamazoo.  An autopsy revealed no signs of criminal activity in his death.

A man out for a walk in Spring Valley Park spotted what appeared to be a body with a rope around its neck Sunday morning.  Just after 11 a.m. Kalamazoo Public Safety officers responded to the call to the park located just off of Mount Olivet Street.  They found a man's body submerged in the water, under the ice, and the Kalamazoo County Dive Team quickly assisted in recovering the body.
