KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s deputies say icy road conditions caused the death of a woman around 7:20 Sunday evening when a pick-up truck she was riding in slid out of control on icy Q Avenue in Texas Township, and rolled over. The 36-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 37-year-old driver and a juvenile passenger were taken to the E.R. with non-life threatening injuries and are expected to recover. About an hour before, 19-year-old Connery Otto of Portage lost control of his Toyota SUV on Texas Drive, sliding sideways, driver’s door first into a tree. He had to be cut out of the wreckage.
He was taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital in critical condition but has since been upgraded to fair.
