EAST LANSING (WKZO) -- State Representative Bob Genetski, a Republican from Saugatuck, still has his driver’s license, but not for long.
Rep. Genetski was pulled over by police after a reception in Lansing following the Governor’s State of the State address last month. Officers must have had reason to believe the Representative was intoxicated beacuse they proceeded to administer a field sobriety test. Routinely the officers then asked Genetski to blow into a breathalyzer which Genetski refused.
Rep.Genetski has now formally been charged with driving while intoxicated and a civil infraction has been issued for refusing the breathalyzer. Refusal to comply with the breathalyzer results in an automatic one year suspension of the driver's license and 6 points added to the driver's record.
