LANGSING (WKZO) -- A law being considered in Lansing would allow parents in Michigan to change their public school to a charter school.  The proposal is based on a California law and is designed to improve low-achieving schools.  The Michigan Senate proposal would give parents in 150 schools statewide the opportunity to gather petitions to make their public school a charter school.
