LANSING (WKZO) -- New Students at Michigan State University are required to have a minimum level of health insurance. Students who do not provide proof of their insurance will be automatically enrolled in the school-sponsored insurance plan. The 940-dollar tab for the health care will be tacked on each student's bill. A statement from MSU says that without health insurance, a student may incur major medical bills that seriously impair or, in the worst cases, completely halt academic progress. New students registering for the spring semester have until the end of this month to either show proof of insurance or be enrolled in the plan.
