WAYLAND (WKZO) --  Wayland Chief of Police Dan Miller is under investigation.

He has been on medical leave, but will go on paid leave at the end of the week while State Police investigate what the interim City Manager says are ‘irregularities."

Miller said the allegations may deal with the use of seized property taken from crime suspects and the source may be his ex-wife and be the result of what he calls an “ugly divorce."

He said he took a seized GPS unit home to charge it, but only so the department could use it, which they are permitted to do.  Michigan State Police said there is nothing missing. Miller said he has done nothing wrong and that’s what he intends to tell the State Police.

Miller blames small town politics and expects to be cleared.
