HARTFORD TOWNSHIP (WKZO) -- Van Buren County Sheriff's deputies are searching for a man in Hartford Township after a short chase.

Deputies attempted to make a traffic stop of a dark green Honda Civic, but the driver sped away.  When they tried to stop him on 61st and 62nd Avenues, the driver veered off the roadway into the yard of a home in a residential neighborhood, nearly striking a man stacking wood in his yard.

The driver found his way back to 61st Avenue, blowing through several stop signs on the snow covered roadway at high speeds before deputies decided to end the pursuit citing safety concerns.  The suspect is described only as a bald white male in his late 20s or early 30s.
