KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- The 27th Annual New Years Fest is going to offer something new this evening in a tent in Bronson Park. Organizer Deb Droppers says from 5:30 until 9:00 it will be used for children’s activities. From 10 to midnight, they will have music and offer something she calls urban line dancing.
]That’s in addition to the 80-plus performances that will be taking place in over a dozen venues around Bronson Park.
Thousands are expected to attend New Years Fest tonight, some of them planning to make a night of it, some plan to just sample the acts, and others may just show up at midnight for the ball drop and the fireworks.
Organizer Deb Droppers says the best way is to get a brochure or go on-line, pick the acts that sound interesting and make a plan.
But she says the event can also work for those who want to combine it with their own plans. They can go out for dinner and drinks, hit a few acts at the event and either stick around for the fireworks or go home and watch Ryan Seacrest welcome in the New Year.
Buttons are $5 if you buy them in advance at Harding’s stores, or the Library or Maple Hill Auto.
