CASS COUNTY (WKZO)-- What began as a routine traffic stop turned into a brief police chase when a driver who committed a traffic violation in Dowagiac, refused to pull over and sped offon Saturday.

He took off down West Wayne St. with the officer from Silvercreek Township on his tail. The car chase ended when the suspect vehicle got stuck on someone’s front lawn.

The driver and a male passenger jumped out and made a run for it on foot. The driver was tracked down, discovered to be drunk, and arrested. The passenger remains at large.
