ALBION (WKZO) -- Calhoun County authorities have charged 33-year-old Aaron Jeffrey Cypret of Albion with home invasion for a burglary in the 400 block of Lombard.

They allege he broke in and actually entered the bedroom where the homeowners were sleeping early Wednesday morning, looking for things he could steal.

They woke up and caught him in the act, and he fled with the owner hot on his heels. A tracking dog was able to lead detectives to the home a few blocks away where he was staying.

They recovered stolen items from the home on Leonard, and property they believe was stolen from other homes as well. He is expected to face additional charges.
