HUDSONVILLE (WKZO) -- An 18-year-old from Hudsonville will escape being sentenced for a felony and if he stays out of trouble and could have it reduced to a misdemeanor in a year.

Cade Cronheim was charged with driving with a suspended license causing serious injury and allowing an unlicensed driver to drive, after he let his girlfriend, a 16-year-old German Exchange Student get behind the wheel of his pickup in June.  They wound up perched in the middle of a fountain, after striking Attorney Jim Ronning, and nearly hitting his son.

A warrant has been issued for the girl, who returned to Europe and has been advised by the German Consul to stay there.  She will be arrested if she ever returns to the U.S.
