BERRIEN COUNTY (WKZO) -- A woman who has been locked up in the Berrien County Jail since December 18th for allegedly uttering profanity in the presence of court clerks is now making claims of racism.
The NAACP is reportedly investigating the claims of Larue Ford and the American Civil Liberties Union is requesting an emergency hearing to get her case reassigned to another judge. She spent Christmas incarcerated because her bail had been denied.
Ford isn’t scheduled for another hearing until January 8th.
