KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- A Kalamazoo business says new healthcare taxes are forcing layoffs.

Stryker Corporation says starting in 2013, it owes excise tax on each medical device sold.  The company says that additional financial burden will force the company to lay off one-thousand employees.

Stryker says the company could owe millions in tax by the end of 2013.
