FLINT (WKZO) -- It’s another winter hazard. The first onset of sub-freezing temperatures has resulted in the death of five people in Eastern Michigan from what is believed to be Carbon Monoxide poisoning.

Two were found dead Monday in a home in Macomb County’s Bruce Township. Then two adults were found dead in a home on Foss Ave. in Flint, and an 11-year-old barely breathing.

Police have released the names of the victims: 43-year-old LeTroy Edwards, 37-year-old Selena Carranza and 11-year-old Jason Cobbin.

Test results confirming the cause could take a few weeks.

Such accidents are the reason why safety experts recommend carbon monoxide detectors in homes.
