GRAND HAVEN (WKZO) -- An Ottawa County man is headed to prison for child abuse.

23-year-old Justin McIntyre was convicted Tuesday of second-degree child abuse for shaking his five-week-old son in August, resulting in serious injuries to the boy.  The infant suffered damage in two parts of his brain and spent several weeks at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids.

McIntyre will be sentenced next month.
