KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Jeanette Moore has apparently confessed to Kalamazoo County detectives that she stabbed her 25-year-old boyfriend during a fight between the two at their place at Comstock Village Apartments, but claims it was self-defense.

Undersheriff Pali Matyas says she must have hit something vital with a knife that became involved in the sruggle because he was not responsive when they found him.  The 19-year-old Moore was taken in for questioning Tuesday and was cooperative, but not arrested.

Two toddlers living in the apartment were turned over to family members.  Deputies have not released the name of the victim.
