KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Kalamazoo Public Safety officers will be taking 15 area children Christmas shopping Tuesday evening.

The Target Corporation is sponsoring the event, dubbed "Shop with Heroes and Helpers."  They'll be donating 1,750-dollars to the effort as kids get the chance to interact with officers in a positive setting.

Officers will take the children shopping at 6 p.m. at the Target on West Main.
