SCHOOLCRAFT (WKZO)  -- Schoolcraft Police have released the name of the woman who was hit by a semi on U.S.131 as it cuts through that community late Friday afternoon.

The big truck was southbound on U.S.131 slowing to make a left turn onto Eliza. Witnesses say the woman, 60-year-old Anne Daugherty of Three Rivers, who was wearing dark clothing, stepped out in the street and then just stopped in the turn lane waiting for traffic to clear.

Chief Bryan Campbell says she was not in the crosswalk.

She was admitted to Bronson Hospital in critical condition but there have been no updates.They are asking that anyone who witnessed the accident call Schoolcraft Police.
