BATTLE CREEK (WKZO) -- Funeral services are being held Thursday afternoon for an eight-year-old girl who died when her home caught fire last week on Young Street in Battle Creek.
Karrina Johnson’s older brother and sister managed to escape the flames in a possible case of arson, but she was trapped inside. She was rescued and revived but never regained consciousness. Her organs were harvested for transplantation.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. at the Second Baptist Church in Battle Creek. Meanwhile, the investigation continues into the fire which police believe was set intentionally.
