CALHOUN COUNTY (WKZO) -- What began as a routine traffic stop for speeding around noon Tuesday turned into a high speed chase with a wanted criminal.
The driver initially pulled over when a Calhoun County Sheriff's deputy flashed his lights on N Drive North, but when the deputy got out of his cruiser, the suspect sped off, eventually abandoning the car and fleeing on foot. Deputies later stopped a man matching the suspect’s description and a K-9 confirmed his track led back to the car.
The 37-year-old was wanted on an outstanding warrant and driving on a suspended license and faces charges of Fleeing and Eluding.
