PORTAGE (WKZO) -- The Portage Department of Public Safety is investigating an incident that took place just after noon Monday at Portage Northern High School.

A student displaying strange and threatening behavior was approached by the Portage Norther School Liaison Officer, the student pulled a knife and threatened the officer.  A quick tasing had the student detained and arrested on charges of felonious assault and assaulting a police officer.

The 17-year-old Portage student was taken to the Kalamazoo County Jail.  Investigators are still looking into the situation.
