PORTAGE (WKZO) -- Unseasonably warm weather greeted the hundreds who turned out for Portage’s annual Tree lighting ceremony Saturday evening.

Children read essays on what they liked about Portage and a high school choir sang Christmas carols.

Then they flipped the switch and thousands of lights near library lane came on. It was followed by more carols, refreshments and a visit from Santa at Celery Flats. .
