KANSAS CITY (1660 THE FAN) - In a nail-biter of a game that saw both teams scoreless until well into the 5th inning, Kansas City just barely managed to best Detroit in the final game of a three-game series, 2-1. The runs were few and far between throughout the entire series, yesterday's game being a 1-0 victory for the Royals and Tuesday saw them win 9-8.

Detroit's only run in this game came from a Jhonny Peralta single which allowed Prince Fielder to score. This wasn't even until the 8th, and by that time Royals left fielder Alex Gordon had hit the game's only homer.

After getting swept by the Tigers twice during the first half of this year's season, it's no surprise Kansas City finally exacted their revenge. The teams still have a few more face-offs this season, but Detroit's next concern is the three-game series against the White Sox starting tomorrow at 6:40 PM on AM 590 WKZO.
