CALHOUN COUNTY (WKZO) -- For a second time, Calhoun County Circuit Judge Conrad Sindt has ordered a new trial for Lorinda Swain, who claims she was falsely convicted of molesting her adopted son in 2002.
The boy and his brother have since recanted the testimony that put her in prison for seven years, and other new witnesses have come forward. The first retrial was reversed by the Court of Appeals on a technicality.
With another new witness now ready to testify to clear Swain, Judge Sindt has ordered a second retrial. It's up to the prosecutor to make the next move.
