Justin Verlander took the mound for game one of the series, giving up three runs on six hits over six innings of work.
Orioles manager Buck Showalter and first baseman Mark Reynolds were ejected in the game after arguing a play at first base.
Fielder went 2-for-3 with four RBI in the game, while Miguel Cabrera went 2-for-3 with one RBI on a deep home run in the first inning.
Baltimore's Matt Wieters hit a go-ahead two run shot in the fifth inning, but the Orioles were unable to hold off the late comeback.
Joaquin Benoit earned his second win of the season, while Baltimore's Daniel O'Day suffered his first loss of the season. Jose Valverde earned his 23rd save of the year in the first of a three game series against Baltimore.
