MICHIGAN CITY, INDIANA (WKZO) -- A Michigan man is dead after he left a trail of bodies in his wake, including his entire family after he drove thru southern Michigan along I-94 to inexplicably commit suicide by driving the wrong way down the interstate with his lights off near Michigan City, Indiana.

Police discovered the bodies of Linda Lee Vanderlinden when they came to her Michigan home to tell her about her husband Michael's death in that crash. She had been strangled and stabbed and their sons, Julien and Matthew, were stabbed to death. Michael Vanderlinden is the suspect in the killings.

Vanderlinden was reportedly in the process of moving out of their home.

Police believe he committed suicide during a fiery head-on crash several hours later that also killed the driver he crashed into, a man from Portage, Indiana.
