DETROIT (WKZO) -- Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick believes that he won't get a fair trial in Detroit.
Kilpatrick spoke to the Detroit Chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists Thursday. The former mayor told those gathered at the event that the city is "too emotionally charged" to seat an unbiased jury when he goes on trial next month for federal corruption charges.
Kilpatrick also took a shot at his successor, Mayor Dave Bing, saying he is detached from the community and took the blame for his mothers defeat in her bid for re-election as U.S. Representative in 2010.
