MINNEAPOLIS, MN (1660 THE FAN) - This evening's 9-3 loss to the Twins puts Detroit on a three-game losing streak--not to mention five losses in their last six games.

After three long, scoreless innings, Minnesota took the lead off Justin Morneau's single. Jhonny Peralta made things even by the top of the 5th, but after a double, single and two homers (from Darin Mastroinanni and Ryan Doumit, the latter a three-run) the game was looking pretty impossible for the Tigers. Austin Jackson and Andy Dirks scored a duo of runs in the middle of the 8th, but it ended up being too little, too late.

Detroit's recently added starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez has now lost three of the last four games he's pitched, but the Twins' Samuel Deduno kept his undefeated record and brought it to 4-0.

Tomorrow will find game two of this series on AM 590 WKZO at 7:45 PM.
