BATTLE CREEK (WKZO) --An autopsy has been conducted on the body of a Battle Creek man who was killed during a home invasion Friday night. Four suspects are in custody charged with the shooting death of 62-year-old Larry Evans, who was found, wounded inside his home in the 200 block of Algonquin St. He was dead on arrival at Bronson Battle Creek Emergency.
Police got the call at around 11:40 Friday night and arrived at the scene while the suspects were still in the process of robbing the place. The four suspects were apparently looking for money and drugs. They tried to escape but were rounded up and taken into custody.
It was a family affair. Two of the suspects are brothers. The other two are father and son. They are being held on felony murder and armed robbery charges for now.
The victim’s son, who was also in the home, survived the invasion.
