GRAND RAPIDS (WKZO) -- Calvin College has been named the top choice for students in west Michigan. That's according to a new report by Forbes Magazine, which ranked the nation's top 650 colleges and universities.

Calvin beat out rival Hope College to claim local honors.  Calvin was listed at number 169, with Hope coming in at 223.

The highest ranked college in the state was the University of Michigan at number 57, with Kalamazoo College close behind at 65.
