DETROIT (WKZO) -- A leader of the Hutaree militia is free.
A judge has ruled that David Stone's two years in jail was a long enough time served for illegal weapons possession. As part of a plea last March, Stone admitted to possessing illegal weapons in exchange for the dismissal of more serious charges in connection with an alleged plan to kill members of law enforcement.
Despite federal prosecutors' request for addition time served a federal judge said "it would not make much sense."
