DETROIT, MI (1660 THE FAN) - Tigers fans are probably ready for an easy 1-2-3 9th inning from Jose Valverde, but they didn't get one Tuesday night. Valverde, who is responsible for more heart palpitations than any other pitcher in baseball, allowed the NY Yankees to close within one run, before getting the final out in a 6-5 sqeaker over the Yankees. Miguel Cabrera and Andy Dirks were the hitting stars for Detroit, which won its 6th in a row, and 10th straight win at Comerica Park. Game three of the series is Wednesday night, with a 6:40 broadcast time on 590 WKZO.
