UNDATED (WKZO) -- The threat of stormy weather in southwest Michigan was a real party spoiler as it brought an early end to festivities on both sides of Lake Michigan.
First Lollapalooza in Chicago’s Grant Park was brought to a temporary halt as a cold front packing heavy rains and high winds. Then as the storm moved eastward, and as ominous storm clouds gathered west of Kalamazoo, Ribfest was shut down and festival Park evacuated, and play was suspended at the Big League World Series and the USTA.
Then the stormiest of the weather went to the south, knocking out power to thousands of homes and businesses in the border counties, but once again missing Kalamazoo. The Host team won their game earlier in the day. The 2 games that were scrubbed at the Milwood Softball Park will be made up Monday morning
