BOSTON, MA (1660 THE FAN) - It's a known baseball fact that when a team loads the bases, it needs to get more than one run if the expectation is a win. Witness the Detroit-Boston game Tuesday. Tigers load the bases in the first...and get one run. Boston loads them up in the fourth...and it gets three. if you do the math, it isn't good for Detroit...and it wasn't, as the Red Sox defeated them 4-1 in 5 innings at rainy Fenway Park. Once again, the Tigers got a subpar performance from ace Justin Verlander, who lost his 2nd straight game on this road trip. Detroit will try and salvage a game in the series on Wednesday. Air time on 590 WKZO is 6:45 pm.
