Harold Ordway found competent to stand trial

GRAND RAPIDS (WKZO)  --  A former Barry County man who police say is linked to the disappearance and possible murders of two men has been found competent to stand trial, in Federal Court on at least the one charge they have been able to level against him so far.

Ex-con Harold Ordway was involved in a minor accident last year in southern Allegan County. That has since blown up into a four county probe into the disappearances of Paul Atchley and Michael Van Buskirk.  Atchley’s blood was found on a mattress in the back of Ordway's  truck after that accident.  Van Buskirk’s badly decomposed body was found in a field near Vicksburg.   Both had been Ordway’s roommates in Battle Creek.

Ordway also had a gun in the truck, and as a felon, that’s a violation of state and federal law. That’s what he has been charged with in Federal Court.  He could face more serious charges later if evidence connecting him to the death of the two men is found.
