NEW YORK (WKZO) -- With the 54th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions reloaded their receiving core with former Oklahoma wide receiver Ryan Broyles.
The Norman Oklahoma native measures in at 5'10" and 192 pounds. Broyles redshirted in 2007, but burst on to the FBS scene in 2008, setting Sooner records in receiving yards and touchdowns for a freshman. He also recorded 30 punt returns for 238 yards in his first season in Oklahoma.
On October 15, 2011, Broyles broke the all-time FBS career reception record with his 317th catch against Kansas. His senior season was cut short when he tore his ACL a month later at home against Texas A&M. Despite the injury, Broyles holds the NCAA FBS career receptions record with 349.
Detroit will make their next pick at #22 in the third round.
