PARCHMENT (WKZO) -- The Superintendent of Parchment schools has issued a written statement following published reports that Asst. Principal John Thompson urged officers on the night he was arrested for drunk driving, to contact Superintendent. Matt Miller and that he would straighten things out.
In the statement, Miller states that he had had dinner with Thompson, meeting with him to watch the Woman’s Collegiate Basketball National Championships but says he lost track of Thompson while he was talking to others and finally noticed that he had left. Miller says he caught a ride home with someone else. He says he was unaware that Thompson had been arrested until the next morning.
Miller says “My concern remains with the well being of John Thompson”. Apparently a lot of people feel that way about Thompson, who will no doubt have a lot of character witnesses willing to testify for him if his case goes to trial. In the meantime, the legal process has begun its course.
