LANSING-- The Michigan Public Service Commission says Homeowners got a big break on their heating bills this winter because of the milder winter. Chairman John D. Quackenbush says 80% of Michigan’s Households use natural gas.
It’s helped contribute to a problem for the Natural Gas industry. Much less of it was used at a time when production is high. The salt caverns under Michigan, and the depleted Oil Fields where they store the gas are filling up, and after years of explosive growth, some natural gas producers are being forced to cut back production, as their stock prices drop. If only our cars ran on natural gas.
