BRADENTON, FLORIDA (WKZO) A Kalamazoo woman has been cited by The Florida Highway Patrol for failing to yield to a motorcyclist who was killed in the resulting collision.
Authorities say 44-year-old Julie Anne Bonnette of Kalamazoo was northbound on U.S.-41 in Bayshore Gardens, Florida when she made a left turn at 60th Ave. right in front of the motorcycle. Apparently she did not see the two-wheeler coming at her in the opposite direction.
Killed was 26-year-old Justin Carpenter of Bradenton. Both had a green light at the intersection, but Carpenter had the right of way. Carpenter was dead at the scene. Bonnette suffered minor injuries.
