KALAMAZOO(WKZO) -- There was another shooting in an area of Kalamazoo that has seen more than its share of violence in the last year. Public Safety responded to reports of a fight and shots fired on Woodbury about 1PM Sunday, but by the time they arrived, everyone had fled. About 15-minutes later they got word that a man had arrived at Bronson E.R. with a gunshot wound to the leg.
The 28-year-old could only say that he was walking at the intersection when he was shot for no reason, possibly hit by a stray. He did not identify the gunman or give any other details. A canvass of the area turned up few people who would cooperate.
The victim is expected to recover. They are asking anyone with information to come forward.
The Ada/Woodbury /Burell Street area was the scene of numerous shootings last year.
