DETROIT, MI (WKZO) - The Detroit Tigers have a couple of numbers that are pretty cool. One is the number 7, which is how long their winning streak is, after an 8-4 comeback win over the Twins Friday. Brad Penny gave up four runs early, then settled down to earn his 10th win. Alex Avila hit a three-run home run in the 2nd inning to pull Detroit to within one, and Ramon Santiago smacked a two-run shot in the 4th to put the Tigers ahead for good. The second cool number is 10, the Tigers’ magic number, thanks to Cleveland’s win over the White Sox. Game two of the series with Minnesota is Saturday, with broadcast time on AM 590 WKZO set for 3:45.
