KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department is warning students who live in off-campus housing in Oshtemo.
They will begin directed patrols today with deputies and mounted officers to reduce the spike in criminal activity, destruction and other problems associated with large parties and under aged drinking.
They say it happens at the beginning of every school year. Police are even reducing their jail population to make room for new arrivals.
Increased patrols are expected on the weekend of the WMU football game against Central Michigan University.
