KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- A suspected hit and run drunk driver who allegedly killed two young men has been ordered to stand trial for second degree murder, and could get up to life if convicted.
Police say Bret Frame was barreling down 6th Street at a very high rate of speed on June 23rd, with a blood alcohol count that was three times the legal limit when he slammed into the back of Justin Bailey’s Chevy Lumina.
The impact sent it into a ditch which launched it into a tree. Bailey died at the scene. His passenger, Mark Angelocci died a few days later.
Deputies found Frame still sitting in his damaged pick-up in the driveway of his parent’s home, where he was living, not far from the accident scene.
Judge Carol Husum dismissed 3 charges, but ordered him to trial on two counts of 2nd Degree Murder, and 2 counts of driving drunk causing death.
Those were the most serious charges he faced.
