KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Kalamazoo County will get a Michigan Department of Transportation grant to extend the county’s non-motorized trail system further to the east into Comstock, to give people there access to the 35-miles in the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail system, and 140 miles of regional trails.
The federal government is contributing 368-thousand dollars for the one mile of trail that will extend from Sprinkle Road to Comstock along the Kalamazoo River. The next goal will be trail way that connects Kalamazoo to the linear park system in Battle Creek, which will give the Cereal City access to the Kal-Haven Trail and the Lake Michigan shore.
