BATTLE CREEK (WKZO) -- Assaults and gun charges will likely be sought this week after a bizarre domestic dispute in Battle Creek that left two people wounded.
A woman arrived late to her ex-boyfriend’s home to pick-up their children for a scheduled visitation, and an argument broke out. The new boyfriend, a double amputee from Elkhart who was still sitting in the car pulled out a handgun and fired it into the ground. The old-boyfriend attacked him in the car and took away the gun.
Then, the former couple struggled over the gun, and it fired twice, hitting him in the shoulder and her in the elbow. Both are expected to recover.
No names have been released pending formal charges.
It happened on Brizse Avenue early Saturday morning.
