BURLINGTON (WKZO) -- Authorities say a man who had threatened police about two weeks ago after being evicted from his home in Calhoun County’s Burlington Township was arrested Tuesday morning following a suspicious fire that gutted the residence on 6 and 1/2 Mile road.
The blaze was reported shortly after 5 a.m. and the first firefighters on scene found flames shooting through the roof of the two story structure. A garage just to the west of the house was also destroyed. State Police arrested the suspect in a nearby wooded area not longer after a canine corps was called in to help in the search effort.
Fire Departments from Burlington, Athens, Union City, and Leroy Township fought the flames. No injuries were reported.
